About: The Hartmann family is one of Panama's pioneering families in the specialty coffee industry. Their story began two generations ago with Alois Hartmann, who settled in Panama in 1912. His son, Ratibor, founded Finca Hartmann, utilizing 100 hectares of pristine rainforest inherited from his father. Today, this land is collectively managed by Ratibor's five children, each playing a distinct role in the family operation. Not content with merely producing some of the world's finest coffees at Finca Hartmann, Ratibor Jr. and his wife, Tessie, initiated the Mi Finquita project. Mi Finquita, which translates to "my small farm," is situated in the vicinity of the town of Los Pozos and was established as a means for Ratibor and Tessie to further advance the specialty coffee sector in Chiriqui. By integrating scientific approaches, traditional methods, and innovative processing techniques, along with the expertise and knowledge gained from managing the renowned Finca Hartmann, Mi Finquita serves as the Hartmann family's way of distinguishing themselves in a highly competitive coffee market.
