About: In Juana's region, coffee is a way of life. A family tradition passed down from her parents, Juana fondly recalls delivering tortillas to coffee plantation workers as a child, fascinated by their craft. Today, she owns Finca La Sombra, a farm surrounded by native trees and located near a watercourse, which she believes provides the perfect conditions for growing exceptional coffee. The shade and moisture contribute to her organically grown Pluma Hidalgo (Typica) coffee variety.
Juana takes pride in every step of the process, from selectively picking cherries to dry fermenting for 36 hours without water. She meticulously dries her coffee on concrete patios covered with palm mats to ensure quality. The farm, bought with her family, not only sustains their livelihood but fuels their passion. “Our coffee is 100% organic and harvested with love. I want every consumer to feel that,” says Juana.
